She has no idea she was born in another universe. Now she has to face a past that should have stayed hidden.
A secluded college campus in California holds a strange secret It’s linked, via an ancient, sentient entity called the pirisma, to a parallel world where history mirrored ours until a shocking change. No one outside a closely guarded research project realizes that most people on our earth have doubles in this other world... some of whom are pursuing deadly agendas.
To scientist Carlos Brujo, the elusive and long-dormant pirisma’s return is an object of wonder and excitement. To retired Brigadier Gen. Ephraim Montrose, the reopening may presage an invasion that threatens an unprepared world. But to artist Hannah Fleischer, who’s newly engaged to a police detective, the consequences will be unimaginable.
Strange perceptions trouble Hannah, who has no idea she was smuggled as a child from the parallel world. When the link between the universes reactivates unexpectedly, cascading events thrust Hannah into the center of a crisis that could destroy both her worlds.

A blurb that I read about this book stated that a young woman doesn't believe she's from another world. While this is true, it's also a teeny tiny part of the book. Out of Her Universe is a What If? plot which is a favorite of mine. What Ifs? explore alternate histories, changes in the 'space time continuum', humans purposefully changing events and creating time warps. These are such fun reads because anything can happen. Anything at all. For example, Hitler being considered a martyr and, subsequently, a neo-Nazi group plotting to overthrow the government is the big predicament in Out of Her Universe. However, the kicker is that it happens on Earth TWO, not Earth One, or our original planet. AND, it has come about only because of interference from humans on Earth One. A semi-human, rainbow-producing entity acts as a portal between Earth One and random other places, depending upon this oddity's whim. Trying to clean up this mess is a whole cast of characters who must comprehend that they all have alternate personalities on the other versions of Earth.I enjoyed reading this book from the first chapter, which was as exciting as the very last chapter. Frequently on the edge of my seat and oftentimes sad for the very human tragedies that author Jacqueline Diamond creates, I didn't put this book down until I was finished. The action flowed quickly and was realistic. Diamond doesn't allow her characters to be any more or less than human. Thus, we are allowed to experience learning about other worlds and people through the eyes of people from many different walks of life, including race, financial stratospheres, and educational levels. Really a fun book although if I had to change anything, it would be to use fewer characters or include a list of characters in the front of the book. I can't wait for the sequel!

Out of Her Universe edition by Jacqueline Diamond Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The description of Out of Her Universe states that a young woman, Hannah Fleischer, has no idea that she was not born in our universe on Earth. This is just a tiny portion of the novel. The book is more about how there are multiple universes. So far Earth One only knows of a few. Their close twin, Earth Two, holds counterparts of many of Earth One's inhabitants. The two worlds once were identical in history.
Earth Two has taken hold of a different destiny, due to the death of Hitler before he came into power. There was no Holocaust, World War II, arms race, or really even a United States of America. Due to a naturally occurring pirisma, a neo-Nazi is able to cross into Earth One to wreak havoc.
I really enjoyed reading this novel. It was very interesting to see Jacqueline Diamond's take on parallel universes. Her ability to create a realistic alternate universe that was so similar to our own yet so different is amazing. Although this was a great read, it did take me a little longer to read, mainly because there was so much to keep up with (who was who, who knew what, how did they know that).
I would definitely recommend this to sci-fi fanatics and anyone who likes shows like "Fringe" and "Dr. Who", as it caters to the alternative universe themes. However, even if you don't like those shows, still give it a try!
I will be reading the sequel when it's available!
If you love all things paranormal (think television series `Fringe'), you'll love this book by Jacqueline Diamond. Author of more than 95 novels and former Associated Press reporter and TV columnist, Diamond has a natural knack for writing. Couple talent with an intriguing theme, and here you have a definite page-turner.
This book, for me, was right up my alley. It plays with topics such as circumstance, opportunity, destiny and what may or may not be fated. It also explores the possibility that we all have a dark side and, given different life circumstances, or different upbringings, who knows who or what we may have become.
The novel bases itself on the proposition that multiple universes exist in which, multiple versions of ourselves may or may not exist (depending on whether certain events have or have not occurred to exact certain pairings and, hence, births). Transit between worlds is dependent on the intermittent appearance of a light source known as the `pirisma', known to a select few who have been secretly studying its existence over a period of forty years.
Until now, the existence of these `other worlds' has posed no real threat to `Earth One'. The project has been kept top secret, so as not to alarm the general public. However, things take a turn for the worst when recent events on `Earth Two' lead to the arrival on Earth One of a crossover with a dangerous agenda of her own.
In amongst trying to stop the `crosser' (whilst trying to distinguish her from her identical counterpart on Earth One), struggling to come to terms with the ramifications of events on one `earth' on events occurring in others, and aiming to comprehend the meaning of all this for individuals and their DNA-sharing counterparts, a gripping plot emerges with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end.
A great story, truly unique and definitely worthwhile. I enjoyed every second of it and look forward to the completion of what the author advises will eventually become a trilogy.
